Brazil: Forest Exports Pass US$5 Billion

Brazilґs forest products exports continue reflect strong growth, is seen in the trade balance in the 12-month period ending September 2003. The value of pulp and paper exports grew 60.8 per cent in the period, hitting US$256.4 million in the month of September compared to the US$159.4 million of September 2002. Wood product exports also increased, going up by 25.4 per cent to US$247.2 million compared to US$197.1 million.
