The AHEC European will celebrate its 10th anniversary, in Lisbon, Portugal in October 24th & 25th 2002. The convention brings together many of the major US exporters and European importers and agents of American hardwoods.
In the 10 years since its foundation, there has been a tremendous growth in American hardwood exports worldwide. In fact, many of the European markets have significantly increased their American hardwood activity and Portugal reflects this trend, where exports of both lumber and veneer have trebled in the last 10 years.
The organizers have put together a programme that will look at some of the global forces currently having an impact on markets in Europe and the implications for the trade in American hardwoods both now and in the future. There will be panel discussions and sessions that will provide ideal opportunities for audience participation and valuable dialogue on key issues.
The convention will be held at Le Meridien hotel in the centre of Lisbon with a special Gala dinner to be held at Portugal's National Tile Museum
