Mill acts for future
A timber mill on Tyneside is among centres hailed by the Government as helping trees play a part in the climate of the future. Egger
in Hexham, Northumberland, is among projects set to spearhead a vision
of how trees, woods and forests can yield environmental, social and
economic benefits for the future. Barry
Gardiner, Minister for Biodiversity, Landscape and Rural Affairs set
out his Strategy for England Trees, Woods and Forests to highlight how
natural resources can improve life for people and wildlife. The
strategy shows how management of trees, woods and forests can help
people and wildlife adapt to a changing climate and how people can make
the most of local woodlands.
