Trade Fair for Used Machinery and Equipment in Nuremberg
Two days after the Hanover trade fair the RESALE trade fair for used
machinery and equipment takes place in Nuremberg/Germany. More than 500
exhibitors are expected in Nuremberg from 14 to 16 April 2003. They represent
stocks of approx. 150 000 machines. The German machinery industry is
increasingly profiting from the used machinery segment and from the strong
demand from abroad.
The Association of German Wholesale Dealers in Machinery and Tools (Fachverband
des Deutschen Maschinen— und Werkzeug-Großhandels e. V. (FDM)) in Bonn
reported poor domestic demand in 2002. However, the managing director of the
FDM, Reiner Rienermann, noted that a large proportion of the weaker
domestic business was compensated for by good demand from abroad. Exports
account for 50 percent of business and are therefore a vital engine for
maintaining and building sales. A higher than average number of companies
offering used wood-working machinery has also been noted.
