Brazil: Increasing Export to China
For the director of the Regional South of the Brazilian Association for Mechanically Processed Timber Association (ABIMCI), Renato Napoli, the first semester of 2004 will be similar to the last three last months of 2003 (September, October and November). "In that period we?ve had a recovering in demand and prices, specially of pine plywood?, affirms Mr. Napoli. His forecast is that the European market will remain stable and the industry will bet on the Asian countries. Up to October 2003, exports of solid wood products to China added up to more than 99 million USD. In 2002 this total was of 78 million.
